Kevin Cherilla is an international mountain guide, philanthropist, and motivational speaker.
Kevin has led expeditions on six continents and over 20 countries. His teams have been featured on the front cover of TIME, Outside, Climbing, and Weekly Reader magazines, and on the Oprah Winfrey Show, Jay Leno, and many world news programs including CNN. He served as base camp manager for the National Federation of the Blind 2001 Everest Expedition in which Erik Weihenmayer became the first and only blind person to summit Mt. Everest. Six years later, on June 5, 2007, Kevin fulfilled one of his lifelong dreams and personally reached the summit of Mt. Everest.
In 2009, Kevin co-founded K2 Adventures, LLC, a non-profit organization that benefits less fortunate or disabled children throughout the world. He currently sits on the board of directors for the Foundation for Blind Children in Phoenix, AZ, and has organized and participated in multiple community service days in third world countries.

Day 1 June 10th - Depart US for Lima, Peru
Depart home for Lima, Peru. Everyone should plan on arriving or joining up with our team in Lima, this evening. We will all overnight in a hotel in the suburbs of Lima and return to the airport the next morning for the flight to Cusco.

Day 2 June 11th – Cusco
Early breakfast at the hotel, fly to Cusco, and check into our hotel. Later in the afternoon we will have a guided visit of Cusco and a night on the town, including a team dinner at a local restaurant. (Breakfast and Dinner Included)

Day 3 June 12th - Cusco/Urubamba
Morning visit to the Pisac market in Urubamba for some shopping and an afternoon visit the nearby ruins of Sacsahuaman. Team dinner at a local restaurant and early to bed. Overnight in Cusco again. (Breakfast and Dinner Included)

Day 4 June 13th – Pacchar / Chilipahua Following breakfast, an early morning bus will take us to the Pacchar trailhead to begin our trek up the Inca Trail. The trail climbs via a small ‘pampa’ at Amparaki to the Watuq’asa pass, where we will pass an Inca wall and fortress known as Qosqoq’awarina (the place where one can see the surrounding pass). There are also great views of the Vilcabamba massif, 3 large mountains in a row. Descend from the pass to the small valley with a stream running through it, called Anapahua. Then head up the valley to your campsite at the small settlement of, Chilipauhua. 5-6 hours of trekking. (All Meals Included)
Day 5 June 14th – Chilipahua This is our day of community service for the Chilipahua village. After breakfast we will perform several hours of community service project, which will be determined at a later time. Following lunch, our hike takes us up the valley to our campsite, situated at 14,000 ft. on a beautiful plateau, surrounded by spectacular high peaks. 2-3 hours of trekking. (All Meals Included)
Day 6 June 15th - Chilipahua-Ankascocha Following breakfast, we begin our trek up through the high pass of Pampaq’asa, at 14,500 ft. Once over the pass, about an hour down the other side, brings us to the lunch spot by the Silque River. After lunch, we will trek a few more hours downhill until our campsite at Ankascocha with breathtaking views. 5-6 hours of trekking. (All Meals Included)
Day 7 June 16th - Ancascosha / Piscaycucho After breakfast we start trekking downhill on a narrow valley full of “Huakanki” the famous big and red Masdevalia orchids. The trail descends making zigzags, beside a small but torrent river. After crossing many little bridges, we`ll reach the community of Camicancha, where we will have lunch in a nice volcanic rock area, with a large view of “La Veronica” a snow capped mountain and the “Pakaritampu” Pyramid, at the other side of the “Sacred Valley”. Following lunch, our trek follows the contours of the Sacred Valley and takes us to a eucalyptus forest and passes through Arid Montane habitat including a Cactus forest. We camp at a lovely site at Piscaycucho, Kilometer 82 on the Peru Railway. We will enjoy an authentic meal of lamb and guinea pig cooked on an open fire (pachaolanca) and a eucalyptus steam bath. 7-8 hours of trekking. (All Meals Included)
Day 8 June 17th – Piscaycucho / Aguas Calientes
Following an early breakfast, we will take a short walk to the train station and board our train for the journey from Kilometer 82 to Kilometer 104 (approx 40 minutes) and begin our final push up to the holy site. A very steep, 3-hour trail will bring us to the famous Inca ruin of Winay Wayna. Here we join the standard Inca Trail which cuts across the ridge to the Incan ‘sun gate’ and the first exhilarating views of Machu Picchu. From ‘sun gate’, you will travel downhill to Machu Picchu to enjoy the sun setting around this amazing place. We will board a bus for the short ride down to Aguas Calientes where we will lodge for the next two nights at the Inka Terra Hotel. 5-6 hours of trekking. (All Meals Included)

Day 9 June 18th – Aguas Calientes
This will be a complete day of rest and relaxation at the amazing Inkaterra Machu Picchu Lodge. There will be no wake up call and a spa at your convenience. (Breakfast and Dinner Included)

Day 10 June 19th – Machu Picchu/Ollantaytambo
Following an early 5:00 am breakfast, we will take the bus back to Machu Picchu for a morning-guided tour of the ruins. This afternoon we will take the train several hours to Ollantaytambo for a tour of the city and night of fun out on the town. Overnight in Ollantaytambo. (Breakfast and Dinner Provided)

Day 11 June 20th – Ollantaytambo / Cusco
After breakfast we will take a 2-3 hour bus ride back to Cusco we will stop along the way for some homemade Chicha beer. We will also stop at the ruins of Mira and the Salt Mines. We will spend one last night in Cusco at our original hotel. (Breakfast and Dinner Provided)

Day 12 and 13 June 21st/22nd – Cusco / Lima / United States Following breakfast, we will head to the airport for our flights to Lima and then on to the United States arriving home in the morning or afternoon of June 22nd
